Interactive State Plan Maps

Currently very beta, I've used open source tools to map the State Plan planning areas.

RutgersFOOD.com

Using the new Google Maps API, I plotted out the location of several restaurants near the three Rutgers campuses. Coordinates were discovered using Geo::Coder::US. Users can add new restaurants and comment. Geocoding is now done through the Google Maps API.

Check out what's near the three campuses: New Brunswick, Camden, and Newark.

Laptop Status

A set of scripts to upload system information to the website. Battery life, disk free space and uptime are recorded and updated every 15 minutes. Take a look.

Older Projects

Intel-only Mac OS X Binaries

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro, which features an Intel Core Duo procesor. Several of the open source apps I use regularly are still offering PPC-only binaries. I took it upon myself to compile some of these apps for my new machine.

So, here's the beef: I have various apps compiled and am willing to share with you my non-Universal Binaries. If you use them, I'm not liable. If you don't like it, go compile it yourself.

App Name Binary
Adium Version 1.0(svn)
KisMAC Version 0.2a (R115)
VLC Version 0.8.5-test1

webTunes Server

A slim perl webserver (using HTTP::Daemon) running as the console user acts as an intermediary allowing users to control iTunes playback through apache (Personal Web Sharing). Other methods call for running apache as the your personal account, which is a big security risk. This will allow you to control iTunes or run other AppleScript from your Mac's webserver.
